Prep Day 1: Dry Layout
Arrange hardscape (rocks + wood) in dry tank. Add substrate. Plant emersed (no water yet).
Photograph the layout from multiple angles for reference.
Planting (Dry Method)
Carpets planted in small groups 1-2cm apart. Stems planted 1-2cm apart. Rhizome plants attached to decor.
Mist plants hourly. Cover tank with plastic wrap to maintain humidity.
Dry Start Phase (2 weeks)
Keep tank misted and covered for 10-14 days. Plants establish roots before water flooding.
No snails, algae, or fish yet. Just plants developing foundation.
Flooding Day
Add dechlorinated water slowly, aiming sprayer onto a plate to avoid disrupting substrate.
Once full, start cycling. Plants should already be rooted — shock is minimal.
