Provide 2-3 hiding spots per fish. Don't share entrances — each needs privacy option.

Soft Lighting
Shy fish prefer diffused light. Use floating plants to dim surface light.
Avoid bright direct overhead lighting on hiding areas.
Slow Introduction
Add plants and decor BEFORE fish, let them acclimate to the tank layout.
Don't rearrange decor after fish are established — restarts stress cycle.
