Harlequin Rasbora (Trigonostigma heteromorpha)

Classic species — orange body with black triangular wedge. 2 inches.

Hardy, peaceful, schools tightly. Excellent community fish.

Chili Rasbora (Boraras brigittae)

Tiny (0.7 inches). Bright red coloration. Perfect nano tank centerpiece.

Group of 12-15 for proper school behavior.

Galaxy Rasbora / Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus)

Tiny (1 inch). Spotted pattern with red fins. Specialty fish.

Discovered in 2006. Wild populations protected. Tank-bred specimens widely available.

Tank Requirements

Small tanks: 10 gallons for nano rasboras, 30 gallons for harlequins.

Soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.5-7.2).

Heavy planting and floating plants for security.

  • Add Indian almond leaves for tannins
  • Low to moderate light — bright lights stress small rasboras
  • Don't mix tiny and medium rasboras — size differences cause stress
