A 5 or 10 gallon tank with cycled sponge filter, heater, hiding spot.
Bare bottom for easy cleaning.
Dedicated net and equipment.
Days 1-7: Observation
Do not medicate. Watch for stress and disease signs.
Feed small amounts twice daily.
Daily water quality check.
Days 8-14: Preventive Medication
General cure (metronidazole and praziquantel combo) treats most internal parasites.
Follow package dosing precisely.
Days 15-21: Recovery
Normal feeding and water changes.
Last chance to observe for any latent disease.
Release
No disease for 14 consecutive days — safe to add to display.
Any disease — extend quarantine 14 days beyond full recovery.
