Livebearer Benchmarks

Guppies: 1.5cm at 4 weeks, 3cm at 12 weeks, sellable 16 to 20 weeks.

Platies: 2cm at 6 weeks, 4cm at 16 weeks, sellable 20 to 24 weeks.

Mollies: 2.5cm at 6 weeks, 5cm at 16 weeks, sellable 20 to 28 weeks.

Betta Benchmarks

Free swimming at 3 days. 1cm at 4 weeks. 3cm at 12 weeks. Jarring age 10 to 14 weeks.

Color visible at 8 to 10 weeks.

Cichlid Benchmarks

Convicts: 1.5cm at 4 weeks, 4cm at 12 weeks, sellable at 16 to 20 weeks.

Angelfish: 1cm at 4 weeks, 5cm at 16 weeks, sellable at 20 to 24 weeks.

Flowerhorn: 2cm at 4 weeks, 8cm at 16 weeks, grade-sellable 20 to 28 weeks.

Tetra Benchmarks

Most tetras: 1cm at 4 weeks, 2.5cm at 16 weeks, sellable at 20 to 28 weeks.

Warning Signs

Growth 50% below benchmark — inspect water quality and feeding frequency.

Uneven growth (some huge, some tiny) — increase feeding frequency or split tanks.
