Name Origin
Kam (Kamfa) + Lau (Malau — Indonesian short-body line).
Malaysian and Indonesian breeders developed the cross in the 2000s.
Physical Traits
Compressed body — approximately 2/3 the length of a standard flowerhorn.
Full Kamfa pearl coverage. Large kok relative to body size.
Care Considerations
Shortened body sometimes correlates with swim bladder issues. Feed easily digestible food.
Same aggression as standard flowerhorns despite smaller size. Tank size should not be reduced.
Show Category
Short-body class in most flowerhorn competitions. Judged against other short-bodies, not standard flowerhorns.
