Rectangular (Best)
Standard rectangular tanks offer the longest swimming distance per liter. Most cost-effective for arowana.
Minimum dimensions: 2m long x 0.8m wide x 0.7m tall for a 60cm arowana.
Bowfront (Premium Look)
Bowfront curved glass gives panoramic viewing but costs 2-3x rectangular. Arowana doesn't care about shape, only the length and width.
Ensure the bowed section doesn't create a dead-zone where the fish can't reach corners comfortably.
Custom Shapes
Some hobbyists build L-shape or tube tanks. Avoid. Arowana get disoriented in complex shapes and develop fin damage from corners.
Peninsula or room-divider tanks work if length is 2m+. Judge by straight-swim distance.
Tank Height Rule
Arowana prefer shallow-and-wide over deep-and-narrow. Max 80cm tall is recommended. Deep tanks cause the fish to swim only in upper third.
70cm height is ideal — deep enough for personality, shallow enough for water changes and maintenance.
