Stand Requirements
Solid frame around the perimeter. Not just legs — full support.
Top surface flat to within 1/16 inch. Even tiny warps stress the tank glass over time.
DIY Cautions
DIY stands need 2x4 framing for tanks under 100 gallons. 4x4 for larger.
Use construction adhesive between joints, not just screws.

Commercial Stand Quality
Particleboard cabinets — water damage destroys them within 2-3 years.
