When Bubble Walls Help
Increased surface agitation = more O2, less CO2. Good for fish-only tanks with heavy stocking.
Aesthetic focal point, especially in low-tech planted tanks or betta show tanks.
When to Avoid
CO2-injected tanks lose CO2 quickly with bubble wall running. Slows plant growth significantly.
Some fish (bettas, goldfish) prefer calm water. Strong bubbling stresses them.
Setup Tips
Place bubble wall at back or side of tank for even distribution. Top of tube should be 5cm above substrate.
Use air pump appropriately sized — too strong = loud/noisy, too weak = weak bubbles.
Maintenance
Clean holes with pipe cleaner monthly — calcium buildup clogs over time.
Check air tubing for cracks. Replace every 6-12 months.
